About me…

Pasadena is the star. (I play a supporting role!)

For nearly three decades, Pasadena has been my home and the place where I learned what it truly means to be an engaged citizen.

I created this site because decisions made at City Hall shape the places we experience every day – our neighborhoods, streets, schools, businesses, historic buildings, trees, and public spaces. Too often, residents learn about those decisions only after they are well underway.

How it started

My own involvement began with neighborhood issues and grew into years of attending public meetings, reading staff reports, organizing residents, writing opinion pieces, raising funds, and speaking before the City Council and Pasadena’s commissions. Along the way, I have learned that thoughtful public involvement can make a difference – but only when people have clear information and know when and how to participate.

How it’s going

This civic journal is a place to share what I am learning, ask difficult questions, and help make local government more understandable and accessible. It is not about opposing every change or pretending there are easy answers. It is about encouraging better planning, responsible stewardship, measurable results, and meaningful public participation.

Let’s all show up!

I believe Pasadena can welcome new ideas and investment while protecting the history, beauty, neighborhoods, and institutions that make our city extraordinary. Great cities do not happen by accident. They remain great because people care enough to pay attention, speak up, and show up.

Showing up has become second nature…
